We make the best food, deliver the best quality, have the best chefs, and above everything else...WE LOVE WHAT WE DO!
"Better to die than be a coward" is the motto of the world-famous Nepalese Gurkha soldiers who are an integral part of the British Army.
The name "Gurkha" comes from the hill town of Gorkha from which the Nepalese kingdom had expanded.
After the partition of India in 1947, an agreement between Nepal, India and Britain meant four Gurkha regiments from the Indian army were transferred to the British Army, eventually becoming the Gurkha Brigade.
Since then, the Gurkhas have loyally fought for the British all over the world for almost 200 years, receiving 13 Victoria Crosses between them.
We bring the taste of the himalayas from the mountainous kingdom of Nepal, which is also home to earth's highest mountain Mount Everest, bordering Tibet in the north and India on its southern foothills.
Nepal has many geographical regions and this is reflected in the preparation of food, which varies from region to region.
Our venue has been beautifully renovated and refurbished throughout, revealing a light, contemporary and smart interior.
Whether you are visiting The Gurkha for lunch, dinner or take away, you are assured of the warmest welcome and the service you deserve.
